TOILETS It sounds rather an odd thing to do, constructing TOILETS, however, when you live in a rural village in Southern India, toilets, believe it or not, are a luxury, but even more to the point, the villagers ask what's the point of them ; so not only is the task to build them, but also to educate people how, and why, to use them. We have so far built well over one hundred toilets in three villages, here are some of the happy recipients - remember, it is one hut, one toilet for the family, communal toilets may have been easier, but we wanted each family to have a responsibility. |
