CHILD AID

Helping Children in Southern India

Educational Trust

In Tamil Nadu, Government Schooling for Primary Education is Free within Government schools, however, if your sponsored child goes to a non-government school, which most families favour, modest school fees are charged, however, as soon as your sponsored child reaches Secondary Education standard, fees are needed to pay for this extra education and also, later, for Higher Education - although we only ask that you guarantee to commit to your child's final examinations within Secondary Education, i.e., to +2 standard, the equivalent to the UK's Advanced Level standard.

If your child has ability, you may, of course, continue to help, but Child Aid's aim is to part-fund those with ability to progress further - if you wish, the child will still be `yours`, but we appreciate that Higher Educational costs may be out of the reach of a sponsor who has their own family commitments ; you would have done so much to bring your child to +2 standard that we believe our Higher Educational Fund could well be able to contribute to helping you take your child that one extra step.

So, continue with your sponsorship or simply help with a donation  ...
